You can also ask Jane your own question:
What is this page?
This is a fake Facebook page, designed to demonstrate the iCents payment tool technology. We will demonstrate how Facebook Applications could allow users to pay and earn money on Facebook, using iCents.
This is just one example of how iCents technology can be used by Facebook Applications. iCents is a very flexible Ajax payment tool, so there are several different ways of using it. This demo is just one of dozens of possibilities.

Explanation:
Facebook is a social network that allows users to install "applications" in their profile pages. To the left you have a fake Facebook profile page.
The user (let's call her Jane) has installed the Top Friends' Secrets application. We pretend that
this application was created by
,
application.
The Top Friend's Secrets application lets Jane's friends go to Jane's page and pay 10 cents to ask questions. Jane receives these 10 cents when she answers the question (minus a Facebook commission), and then her answers are posted on her page as "secrets" that other people can pay to read.
Also, when someone pays to read a secret, he or she can vote the secret up or down. The secret then gets 10 cents more expensive or less expensive for each vote it receives. Jane can erase any of her posted secrets whenever she wants.
What is important here is to realize how easy it is to implement the Freemium Business Model with iCents: offering basic services for free, while charging for advanced or special features.
How do I test it?
1) Roll the mouse over one of the "Show me Jane's answer" links. You will see that its price appears just like in this paid link.
2) When you click the link, a Payment Window will appear and let you pay.
Note: the first time you pay for content with iCents, you will have to sign in with the payment system you like using.
Please click here to learn how to do it, in case you haven't signed in already.
You can now vote the secret up or down, depending on whether it was worth paying for or not. If it was not, its price will decrease for future buyers. Otherwise, it's price will increase.
